Ashley gets Outstanding Volunteer Award for all of her hard work in the garden. Mrs. Wright's 3rd Grade class performed a dance to "Hello Seattle" for her since that is where she lives. And yes, it was silly hat day at Diggs-Latham.
Global Gardens
Diggs-Latham Elementary has been awarded a 2010-2011 Lowe's Toolbox for Education grant from the Lowe's Charitable and Educational Foundation (LCEF) for $5,000. Our project is called "Global Gardens" to reflect our school's theme.

Is This Enough Wood, Boss?
This is the wood that will become a fence for our garden. Dale is passing on this donation of palettes from Blue Rhino. Wayne, Laurie, Martin and I pulled them apart and pulled out the nails. Now Dale will run them through the planer and apply the Salem Woodworking magic to it. This will eventually attach to the Moon Gate. Ashley supervises from Washington.
